Trinity Baseball's Donnelly And Loudon Take NESCAC All-Academic Honors

Hartford, Conn., August 27, 2009 -Trinity College baseball senior Jacob Donnelly (Suffield, Conn.) and junior Doug Loudon (Dover, N.H.) were each selected to the 2009 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2009 All-Academic Team. Donnelly is a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selections. Each NESCAC All-Academic honoree must be varsity letterwinner and maintain at least a 3.35 grade-point average.
The 2008 NCAA Champion Trinity baseball squad, coached by Bill Decker (19th Season), waged a valiant defense of its national title, posting its third consecutive 30-win season at 33-7 and advancing to the program's fourth NCAA Division III World Series. The Bantams captured a fourth NCAA Division III Regional Championship crown, breezed through the NESCAC East Division with a 12-0 mark for the second year in a row, and won a third NESCAC Championship crown. Trinity was ranked No. 6 in the Final NCBWA/D3Baseball.com National Poll.
Donnelly, who played in four games this season as a backup catcher, closes his Bantam career with four hits in nine at-bats while playing in 14 games. An alum of Suffield Academy, Donnelly graduated from Trinity in May with a degree in Jewish. He is the son of Celia Moffie and Justin Donnelly.
Loudon, who missed the 2008 season with an injury, made four appearances with a total of 3.1 innings pitched in 2009 and struck out five batters with an 8.10 ERA in 2009. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Loudon is majoring in mechanical engineering and physics at Trinity. He is the son of Katrina Loudon.
