Kurtis Von Bargen begins his second year coaching the Bantam outside linebackers. Also an outside linebackers coach at Coast Guard in 2009, Von Bargen received his bachelor’s degree in health education and promotion from East Carolina the previous spring. He was a defensive back for the 2008 Conference USA Champions, and saw action in the Papajohns.com Bowl, the Liberty Bowl, and the Hawaii Bowl during his collegiate career. Von Bargen was an All-State defensive back scholastically in Richmond, Va.
