Trinity Field Hockey Heads South For Summer Training Trip to Argentina
Hartford, Conn., August 8, 2008 - The Trinity College field hockey team will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina from August 11-20, under the guidance of Victory Sports Tours. During their trip, the team will practice and play against athletes from the Buenos Aires Club League (AAASHC), and work with top Argentinean coaches and players. The Bantam squad will play four exhibition games, and players and coaches will have an opportunity to spend time with their counterparts after the games at social events for the teams.
Argentina is also home to some of the best field hockey talent in the world. Luciana Aymar is arguably the best field hockey player in history, having earned the International Hockey Federation's World Player of the Year award four times in her career.
The Trinity women's field hockey team, coached by Anne Parmenter
(8th Season), has made the NESCAC Championship Tournament three of
the last four years, including last fall when the Bantams posted an
8-7 record, and made the NCAA Final Four in 1993 and 1998.
