Trinity Field Hockey Wins At Westfield State
Westfield, Mass. - Junior forward Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) tallied two goals and an assist to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 5-1 victory over the Westfield State College Owls in field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 12 in the nation, improves to 2-0, and Westfield States moves to 2-2.
Williams had a hand in three of the game's first four goals that gave the Bantams a 4-0 halftime lead. The Owls scored early in the second half on a goal by senior forward Kate Moss (Auburn, Mass.). Junior forward Christy Bradley (Wellesley, Mass.) had a goal and an assist for the Bantams, who outshot Westfield, 20-9. Westfield State sophomore goalie Amanda McCarthy (Franklin, Mass.) recorded nine saves, while Trinity sophomore goalie Gina Dinallo (West Hartford) had six stops.
