Trinity Field Hockey Announces 2012 Schedule
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity field hockey team, coached by Anne Parmenter (12th Season), has announced its schedule for the 2012 season. The Bantams finished the 2011 season with an 11-5 overall record and finished in fifth place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with a 6-4 league mark. Trinity qualified for its seventh NESCAC Championship Tournament and its fourth in a row, and won, 2-1, in overtime at Tufts to advance to its fourth consecutive NESCAC Semifinals. The Bantams lost at eventual champion Bowdoin, 2-0, in the semifinal game.
Trinity finished last fall ranked No. 14 in the final National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Poll and will face four other teams ranked in the 2011 top 25 as it tackles grueling NESCAC play. The Bantams host Middlebury and Tufts, who were ranked No. 6 and No. 16 (tied), respectively, in last year's final top 25, and visit last year's No. 1 (Bowdoin) and No. 10 (Amherst) in 2012. Trinity opens the fall at NESCAC rival Hamilton on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m., and entertains league foe Williams in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 15 at noon.
