Trinity Men's Basketball Falls At Rhode Island College In Overtime


Providence, R.I. - Senior guard Tirrell Hill hit a go-ahead three-pointer and classmate center Wil Lyons converted a layup on the ensuing possession to lead the Rhode Island College Anchormen past the visiting Trinity College Bantams, 83-80, in overtime in men¹s basketball action this evening at Murray Center.  Trinity falls to 3-7 and the Anchormen improve to 7-3.

Trinity held a 73-71 lead in regulation with 0:32 on the clock after a pair of free throws by sophomore guard Ian Fels (Miami, Fla.), but Lyons hit a game-tying jumper with 20 seconds left to force the extra five minutes.  Two more from the charity stripe by Bantam sophomore forward Luke MacDougall (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) gave the visitors a 77-75 advantage with 1:40 remaining in overtime, but the Anchormen outscored the Bantams, 8-3, the rest of the way.

Trinity sophomore guard Brian Ford (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a game-high 28 points and sank four three-pointers in six tries, while Fels added 19 points and four assists, and MacDougall grabbed 10 boards and made six steals.
