Trinity Men's Basketball Loses To Amherst

Hartford, Conn. – Junior guard Allen Williamson (Saugus, Mass.) had 12 points off the bench to lead the visiting Amherst College Lord Jeffs to a 61-30 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s basketball action this afternoon on Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity falls to 10-9 overall and 2-4 in the NESCAC with its fourth setback in a row, while No. 7-ranked Amherst improves to 17-2 overall and 6-0 in the league with its fourth consecutive triumph and its sixth straight against the Bantams.

Amherst held Trinity to 21.2 percent field goal shooting (11-for-52) and made 18 out of 21 shots from the foul line.  Bantam rookie guard Varun Ram (Clarkville, Md.) had six points, while fellow rookie George Papadeas (Athens, Greece) had seven rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.  Senior forward Jeff Holmes (Saunderstown, R.I.) led the Lord Jeffs with seven rebounds.  Trinity hoisted up 21 three-pointers and missed them all.
