Middlebury Edges Trinity On Tiebreaker To Win Weekend Golf Shootout


Berlin, Conn. - Senior Ashley Miller (Williston, Vt.) shot a 77 over 18 holes today to give the Middlebury College Panthers the tournament title on a fifth-place tiebreaker in the Trinity College Golf Shootout played this weekend at TPC River Highlands and Shuttle Meadow Country Club.  Bantam sophomore Jay Driscoll (Milton, Mass.) was the individual medalist with a two-round score of 140, including a 69 on Saturday at the TPC in Cromwell, Conn.

Trinity and Middlebury tied after two days with identical scores of 604, but Miller edged Bantam senior Alec MacColl (Centennial, Colo.) on the last day by a single stroke.  Sophomore Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.) paced the Panthers with a two-day total of 146, while Williams sophomore Jack Killea (Ridgefield, Conn.) recorded a150 and Wesleyan senior Eli Wilson (Honolulu, Hawaii) had a 151.  Trinity freshman Alex Bermingham (Bedford, N.Y.) shot a 152.
