Babson Edges Trinity and Susquehanna to Win Trinity Invitational Golf Tournament


Berlin, Conn. - Babson College shot a 36-hole low score of 600 (304, 296) to win the Trinity College Golf Invitational Tournament which started at Blackledge Country Club yesterday afternoon and ended at Shuttle Meadow Country Club this evening.  Trinity College and Susquehanna finished tied for second with a two-round score of 605. 

Junior Pasquale Pio, of Nichols College, was the individual champion, winning his second straight Trinity Invitational Tournament with a score of 143 (72, 71).  Fernando Pineres (73, 73, 146) was third overall and Joe Young (75, 73, 148) finished in the top ten to lead Babson. 

Mitch Mercer (74, 71, 145) placed second overall and Pat Wilson (71, 77, 148) also finished in the top ten for Susquehanna, while Trinity sophomore Alex Bermingham (Bedford, N.Y.) shot a 151 (75, 76) to tie senior teammate Dave Anderson (Wellesley, Mass.) (77,74), for eighth.
