Trinity Golf Takes Third At NESCAC Championship Tournament
Hartford, Conn. - Senior tri-captain Alex Bermingham (Bedford, N.Y.) finished second overall with a two-round score of 156 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to third place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Golf Championship Tournament at the Taconic Golf Club. Trinity recorded a team score of 645, 19 shots off the first-place pace of Middlebury and 11 shy of second-place and tournament-host Williams. Hamilton came in fourth place with a 656.
Bermingham's Saturday score of 77 was tied with one other for the fourth-lowest score of the day, and his score today of 79 was tied for third-lowest. He was one of just two linksmen to card under an 80 on both days of the tournament. Bantam rookie Alex Lynch (Greenwich, Conn.) shot a 159 (80+79), while fellow first-years Greg Palmer (Cheshire, Conn.) and Nick Buenaventura (Weston, Mass.) shot 164 and 166, respectively, followed by junior tri-captain Jack Palley (Pelham, Mass.) who shot a 173.
