Trinity Golf Opens 2012-13 Season With Home Invitational On Two Top Courses
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College golf team, coached by Bill Detrick (20th season), will open the 2012-13 season with its annual home invitational at Tunxis Plantation Course in Farmington, Conn. and Blackledge Country Clubs in Hebron, Conn. on September 8 and 9. The Bantams will also play in invitationals at Middlebury and Williams, in the Connecticut Cup hosted by UConn, and the Hudson National Fall Classic in New York. Last season, Trinity qualified for its fifth straight league championship with a strong showing at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Fall Qualifier, which will take place at Amherst on October 1 and 2 this season, and earned second place in the NESCAC Championship Tourney for the second year in a row. Co-captains Dante Ambrogio (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Jack Palley (Pelham, Mass.), the 2011 NESCAC Player of the Year, lead the squad in 2010-11.
