Trinity Golf Ties For 12th In Connecticut Cup
Ellington, Conn. - Sophomore Greg Palmer (Cheshire, Conn.) followed up a 75 and a 73 over 36 holes yesterday with an 18-hole score of 71 this afternoon, as the Trinity College Bantams tied with Division I Canisius for 12th place in the Connecticut Cup Golf Invitational at Ellington Ridge Country Club. Trinity posted a team score of 911, which was six points shy of 11th-place Long Island and 12 shots better than 14th-place Siena. The Bantams were the only Division III school in the 15-team field. Hartford won the event with a score of 882. Palmer tied for 11th place among individuals, while Bantam sophomore Nick Buenaventura (Weston, Mass.) tied for 48th place with a three-round total of 229, and first-year Jeff Durkin (Scituate, Mass.) carded a 233 to tie several others for 63rd place.
