Trinity Golf Takes First And Second In Bill Detrick Invitational

Newington, Conn. - Junior Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) shot a 71 this afternoon, improving six strokes from his Saturday round to tie classmates Ace Ensign (Sudbury, Mass.) and Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) and Amherst's Jeffrey Herr for medalist honors with a two-day score of 148 and lead the Trinity College "A" squad to first place in the season-opening Bill Detrick Golf Invitational this weekend at Indian Hill Country Club.  Trinity "A" improved four strokes as a unit from the first to the second round, as it led Trinity "B" by two strokes after shooting a 302 during Saturday's play and shot a 298 today to finish at 600 for the weekend.  Trinity "B", led by Ensign, was second with a score of 610, followed by Western New England at 616, Amherst at 621, and Tufts at 625 to round out the top five.

Kay-Green followed up a 75 on Saturday with a 73 today to also card a score of 148, while senior captain Nate Choukas shot a 151 (75+76) and classmate Kole Kelly (Belmont, Mass.) shot a 153 (75+78) for Trinity "A".  Ensign tied Western New England's John Abbott for the lowest round on Saturday at 73 and shot 75 today to finish at 148, junior Nick Branchina (Summit, N.J.) shot a 152 (74+78) and first-year Ricardo Paes Leme (Lake Villa, Ill.) added a score of 154 (78+76) for Trinity "B".
