Trinity Men's Golf Runs Away With Bill Detrick Invitational Title

Newington, Conn. - Senior tri-captain Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) finished a full five strokes ahead of the field with a 70 on each round and a final score of 140 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to the Bill Detrick Men's Golf Invitational title at Indian Hill Country Club this weekend.  The Bantams shot just one-over par at 289 on Saturday and bested that performance with a four-under par score of 284 today to finish at 573 for the weekend and 23 strokes ahead of second-place Babson at 596.  Fellow senior tri-captain Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) had today's lowest score, firing a 68 to finish tied for with classmate Joseph Ladd (San Francisco, Calif.) for third at 145, just two shy of Babson's Chris Bornhorst in second place.  Trinity's "B" group was fifth after Saturday's round at 306 and maintained that spot in the middle of the 10-team field with a 312 today and a weekend tally of 618.  Amherst was third at 608 and Tufts was fourth at 611.

Ladd shot a 71 on Saturday and a 74 today, while Trinity senior Nick Branchina (Summit, N.J.) fired a 147 (74+73) to tie Manhattanville's Andrews and Western New England's Zogby for fifth overall.  Senior Ace Ensign (Acton, Mass.) highlighted the Trinity "B" squad with a 75 on each day for a weekend score of 150, while senior Owen McGowan (Norwalk, Conn.) added a two-day score of 153.  The Bantams head to Middlebury College for the Duke Nelson Invitational next weekend.
