Trinity Golf Finishes Second Among D3 Schools At New England Championships

Brewster, Mass. – Senior co-captain Reid Longley (Atlanta, Ga.) shot a 73 on each day for a two-round, 10th-place score of 146 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to eighth place among all teams and second among Division III schools in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship Tournament today and yesterday at The Captain’s Course on Cape Cod.

Trinity Finishes First of Seven Teams in Golf Shoot-Out

Berlin, Conn. – Junior Jay Driscoll (Milton, Mass.) shot a tournament-low 140 (70, 70) to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a first place finish among seven teams in the Trinity Shoot-Out at Shuttle Meadow Country Club this weekend.





The Trinity College golf team has shown consistent improvement over the past decade under the guidance of three-time NESCAC Coach of the Year Bill Detrick. Completing his 16th year as head coach of golf, Detrick led the Bantam team to a first-place tie in the NESCAC Championships in 2006 and 2009 and first place in the fall Championships in 2008. The squad also finished first among Division III colleges in the New England Championship Tournament on Cape Cod in 2006 and first in the ECAC Tournament in 2007 and 2008. The program also boasts the NESCAC Individual medalists three of the last four years.
