Trinity's Diozzi And Houli Take Men's Ice Hockey Post-Season Honors

Hartford, Conn., April 14, 2009 - Trinity College men's ice hockey senior Chris Diozzi (Belmont, Mass.) and sophomore Adam Houli (Howell, N.J.) each graced the 2009 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference Second Team. Diozzi was a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award as the best American-born college hockey player in New England at the Division II/III level, and Houli was also selected for the Jewish Sports Review Division III All-American Team.
Trinity, under Head Coach David Cataruzolo (2nd Season), finished the 2008-09 season with a record of 16-9 overall record and 12-7 mark in the NESCAC. The 2008 NESCAC Champion Bantams won the first-ever, men's post-season game at the Koeppel Community Sports Center, 3-1, against Connecticut College in the NESCAC Quarterfinals, but lost their bid for a second straight league crown with a 3-0 loss at Amherst in the semifinals.
Diozzi, a co-captain defenseman, played in all 25 games at forward and led the Bantam defensemen in scoring with 16 points (8th in NESCAC among defensemen) on six goals (tied for team lead) and 10 assists (T2nd on team), including three power-play goals. In his fine career, Diozzi totaled 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points in 100 games. Diozzi is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and a political science major at Trinity. He is the son of Lou and Thomas Diozzi.
Houli played in 24 games at forward and led the Bantams in scoring with 21 points on 10 goals (tied for team lead) and 11 assists (tied for team lead), including a pair of game-winning goals. Howell graduated from The Gunnery School and is majoring in public policy & law at Trinity. He is the son of Annette and Sol Houli.
