Petrov Leads Trinity Men's Ice Hockey To Assumption Holiday Tournament Title
Worcester, Mass. - Sophomore forward Egor Petrov (Novokuznetsk, Russia) tallied a goal and two assists to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the Assumption College Ice Dogs in the finals of the Assumption College Holiday Men's Ice Hockey Tournament at Buffone Rink this afternoon. Trinity improves to 5-3 with its two wins in the tournament, while Assumption falls to 1-8-2.
Petrov and classmate Justin Letizia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) scored goals to give Trinity a 2-0 lead 7:01 into the first period and the Bantams rattled off three goals in both the second and third frames. Senior defenseman William Burns (Livonia, Mich.) tallied a pair of assists and junior goaltender Joseph Hanson (Weymouth, Mass.) made 15 saves for the Bantams.
