Men's Ice Hockey's McCarthy Named Trinity's Top Senior Male Scholar Athlete
Hartford, Conn., June 25, 2012 – Trinity College men’s ice hockey senior Sean McCarthy (Duxbury, Mass.) was selected as the College’s 2012 ECAC Senior Male Scholar Athlete Award recipient, and joined senior co-captain Michael DeMayo (Seaford, N.Y..), juniors Michael DiCenso (Greenville, R.I.), Zach Lombardi (Locust Valley, N.Y.), Chris Menard (Burlington, Mass.), and Jeff Menard (Burlington, Mass.), and sophomore Charlie Mullan (Buffalo, N.Y.) on the 2012 NESCAC All-Academic squad. Each NESCAC All-Academic honoree must be varsity letterwinner and maintain at least a 3.35 grade-point average.
The Bantams, coached by Matt Greason (1st Season), finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 9-13-2 overall record and a 6-10-2 mark in the league, while qualifying for a 12th consecutive NESCAC Championship Tournament. Trinity suffered a 2-1 loss at Bowdoin in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.
