Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantam men's lacrosse team, coached by Mike Higgins (2nd Season), has announced its schedule for the 2012 campaign. Trinity set a program record for wins in a season last spring, posting a 12-4 overall mark and finishing tied with Middlebury for third place in the NESCAC with a 6-3 league record. The Bantams qualified for the NESCAC Championship Tournament for the sixth year and the fourth time in the last five years, and downed Wesleyan, 10-5, at home in the quarterfinals before bowing to Middlebury, 11-10, at Tufts in their first-ever NESCAC Semifinal appearance.
Trinity, ranked No. 15 in Inside Lacrosse.com's Face Off Magazine Division III Pre-Season Poll, No. 16 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Poll, and No. 20 in the Lacrosse Magazine Division III Pre-Season Poll, takes on its usual challenging schedule this spring, beginning with a home game against No. 20-ranked Skidmore on March 10. Five of the 14 teams on Trinity's schedule are ranked among the top 20 teams in the USILA Pre-Season Poll, including four NESCAC opponents. Tufts, Amherst, and Midldebury are all ranked among the nation's top ten teams. The Bantams host No. 18-ranked Bates in their home opener on March 24.
