Trinity Men's Lacrosse Entertains Hamilton In NESCAC Quarterfinals Saturday
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College men's lacrosse team, coached by Mike Higgins (2nd Season), will host the Hamilton College Continentals in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Quarterfinal game on Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. The Bantams finished the 2012 regular season with a 9-5 overall record and was second in the NESCAC with a 7-3 conference mark. The Bantams are the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while Hamitlon is seeded No. 7.
Trinity earned its first tournament win during last year's quarterfinals by ousting rival Wesleyan, 10-5, but came up one goal short to Middlebury in the semifinals, 11-10. The Bantams will take on a familiar foe in the form of seventh-seeded Hamilton (9-5, 5-5 NESCAC). These two squads met this past Saturday in Clinton, N.Y., with the Continentals pulling away from a 4-4 tie at the half in a 9-7 win. After starting its first season in the NESCAC 0-4, Hamilton began to turn things around with a 7-6 victory over Middlebury on March 28 and went on to win four of its next five conference outings. The Continentals could have easily been 8-2 in the league this season, as three of their five losses were by a single goal.
