Baltimore, Md. - The Trinity College Bantams posted a 12-3 win over the Babson College Beavers in men's lacrosse action this evening in a neutral-site contest at Johns Hopkins University.  Trinity improves to 2-4, snapping a three-game losing skid, and Babson drops to 2-3.  The Bantams outscored the Beavers, 3-0, in the second quarter to take a 4-1 lead at the break and built its lead gradually up throughout the second half.

With the game tied at 1-1 after one quarter, Trinity senior co-captain Matt Hauck (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal 2:05 into the second stanza and fed junior Ryan DeSimone (St. James, N.Y.) for another Bantam tally at the 5:06 mark.  DeSimone followed with a feed to senior tri-captain James O'Connell (Middleton, Mass.) 2:55 before intermission, and O'Connell went on to outscore Babson, 3-1, himself in the third quarter for a 7-2 Trinity lead with one frame remaining.  Hauck scored the first two goals of the final quarter and Trinity answered a Babson goal by John Harrison with three more tallies to close out the contest.

DeSimone, Hauck, and O'Connell combined for 10 of the 12 Bantams goals and 15 of the 18 Trinity points.  Hauck and O'Connell scored four times each, while Hauck added one assist, and DeSimone notched two goals and four assists.  First-year J.P. Masaryk (Stratford, Conn.) dominated the face-off, winning 15 of 20 opportunities and scopping five groundballs.  Senior Mickey Zaverucha (Duxbury, Mass.) made 11 saves and Jordan Shapiro had five stops for the Beavers.
