  • Trinity Spring Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Honors

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College spring athletic teams placed 64 student-athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2015-16 Spring All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.

    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College men's lacrosse team, under the direction of sixth-year Head Coach Michael Higgins, finished the 2016 season with a 5-10 overall record and a 2-8 mark in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action to finish ninth in the conference. The Bantams were competitive in many of their contests this spring, having seven tilts decided by three points or less.

    Hartford, Conn. - Eight Trinity College spring athletes were named to the 2016 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Sportsmanship Team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. Men's track and field senior co-captain Geoffrey Bocobo (Villanova, Pa.) earned his second appearance on the team and was joined by women's track and field junior Katie Tonyai (Jaffrey, N.H.), men's lacrosse senior Seth Bird (Concord, Mass.), women's lacrosse senior Abby McQuillan (Medfield, Mass.), men's tennis senior tri-captain Aaron Segel (Needham, Mass.), womens' tennis senior captain Melita Ferjanic (Samobor, Croatia), baseball senior Mackenze Genauer (Montclair, N.J.), softball junior Victoria Baez (Tuckahoe, N.Y.), men's rowing senior Christopher White (Winchester, Mass.), and women's rowing senior co-captain Claudia Jensen (Bronxville, N.Y.).

Senior captain Ryan DeSimone (St. James, N.Y.) led the charge with five goals and an assist as the Bantams improve to 5-9 overall and 2-7 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilts while Hamilton drops to 3-11 on the season and 1-9 in the conference.

    Seniors Ryan DeSimone and Henry Coote have taken the Trinity College Lacrosse team to the next level. Ryan instantly made a huge contribution to the program after his transfer from Villanova. Ryan has played in every game and leads the team in assists and scoring. Coote, paid his dues, put in his work, and is now the starting goalie for the Bantams. Henry has started in all twelve games this year and his ability to lead is even more impressive than his 121 in-conference saves.

    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity outscored the Skidmore, 7-2, in the second half as the Bantams knocked off the Thoroughbreds, 11-7, on Tuesday evening in men's lacrosse action. Trinity got three goals a piece from senior captains Seth Bird (Concord, Mass.) and Ryan DeSimone (St. James, N.Y.) while freshman Scott Morgan (Grand Rapids, Mich.) won 16-of-22 faceoffs and collected 12 ground balls to pace the Bantams in the victory.

Trinity outscored the Camels 3-0 in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to erase the deficit as the Bantams currently sit at 2-7 overall and 1-5 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action with the loss.
