Four Earn NESCAC All-Academic Honors For Trinity Men's Rowing

Hartford, Conn., August 12, 2008 - Trinity College men's rowing senior Code Sternal (St. Louis Park, Minn.) and juniors Klee Aiken (Chicago, Ill.), Nicholas Chakiryan (Oyster Bay, N.Y.), and Eli Roxby (Paoli, Pa.) were each named to the 2008 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Spring All-Academic Team.  Each student-athlete selected to the NESCAC All-Academic Team must be a starter or key reserve for a varsity team and maintain at least a 3.35 grade-point average.

Trinity, coached by Larry Gluckman (6th Season), recorded an 8-2 record in dual races this spring, won its third straight New England Championship title and its fourth straight New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title, and won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) National Invitational Regatta crown this spring.  The Bantams closed the year with a second-place finish in the Temple Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta last month.

Sternal, a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection, rowed for Trinity's first varsity eight in the Henley Royal Regatta in July.  Alum of St. Louis Park High School, Sternal graduated from Trinity in May with a degree in economics.  He is the son of Nancy and Ron Sternal.  Aiken is an alum of Lincoln Park High School, while Chakiryan graduated from Oyster Bay High School, and Roxby attended Conestoga High School.  Chakiryan competed at Henley in a pairs boat and Roxby rowed for the Bantam first varsity eight.
