Trinity Men's Rowing Takes Eighth Straight Overall Points Trophy At New England Regatta
Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College men's varsity eight crew recorded a second-place time of 5:56.442 in the grand final of the New England Rowing Championships, while the Bantams earned their eighth consecutive Overall Points Trophy for the combined efforts of all its boats this afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond.
Trinity finished 5.2 seconds ahead of third-place Bates and 6.1 seconds behind first-place Williams. All of Trinity's crews reached the grand final, as the second varsity, third varsity, and novice boats were all also second in their respective grand finals. Trinity's second novice eight defeated Boston College in a two-boat race with a time 6:15.248. In the Overall Points Standings, Trinity totaled 105 points, whihc was 23 more than second-place WPI.
