Trinity Men's Rowing Wins Novice Eight And DII/DIII Gold Medals At Knecht Cup
Cherry Hill, N.J. - The Trinity College Bantam novice eight crew won the grand final at the Knecht Cup on Cooper River this afternoon with a first-place time of 6:00.62, edging second-place Drexel which came in at 6:02.05. Trinity's second varsity eight placed second in its finals, while the first varsity was third in the grand final, and the Bantam entry in the DII/DIII field won its finals.
The second varsity recorded a time of 6:00.66, which was .84 seconds behind first-place Drexel, while the varsity eight finished the grand final in 5:53.53. In the the DII/DIII Finals, Trinity's boat , recorded a winning time of 6:18.04 to best Washington College by the narrow margin of .05 seconds. Trinity's novice eight and varsity eight both recorded the fastest time of all boats in the semifinal races, while the novice eight recorded the fastest time of all the preliminary heats in its field.
