Trinity Men's Rowing Alum Named Associate Coach At Williams

Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College men's rowing alum and former assistant coach Ed Slater '07 was recently named as an associate head coach for the Williams College men's rowing team while the Ephs' head coach, Peter Wells, is on leave for the spring semester. Slater had earleir been featured in The Ridgefield Press after being named the executive director of the Norwalk River Rowing Association. Trinity men's rowing, coached by Kevin MacDermott (8th Season), will open the 2016-17 spring season on Saturday, April 1 in Boston, Mass. against Bates, Boston College, and Harvard.

Slater was Trinity's captain in 2005-06, and the Bantams won a gold at the Head of the Charles in 2004 and 2005, the New England Championships in 2005 and 2006, the 2006 ECAC National Championships for the first time in Trinity's history, and the 2005 Henley Royal Regatta during Slater's days as a Trinity oarsman.  During Slater's coaching tenure with the Bantams under Kevin MacDermot, the student-athletes he coached earned medals at the Head of the Charles, Dartmouth Green Monster, Knecht Cup, New England Championship and USRowing’s National Invitational Rowing Championship.
