Trinity Men's Rowing Qualifies Both Boats For Finals At Knecht Cup

West Windsor, N.J. - The Trinity College men's rowing team qualified both of its boats for the finals in the Knecht Cup Regatta on Mercer Lake this weekend. Trinity's second varsity came in second place in the petite final with a time of 6:13.67, and the varsity place sixth in the petite final at 6:16.40.  This weekend's regatta was the spring opener for the Trinity crews.

The Bantams had finished second in its preliminary heat yesterday to qualify for the varsity-eight semifinals this morning, and edged Jacksonville by .58 seconds to take sixth in that race to advance to the petite final.  Temple won the petite final with a time of 6:11.29 and St. Joseph's (Pa.) won the grand final race.  Trinity's second-varsity finished well ahead of Fairfield to take sixth in its preliminary race this morning and jumped several places to earn second behind St. Joseph's "B" squad in the petite final.
