Trinity Men's Rowing Finishes 14th At New England Rowing Championships

Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College men's second-varsity four qualified for the grand final with the third-fastest time trial of 5:47.68, placing sixth in the grand final race with a time of 7:22.58, as the Bantams came in 14th place of 23 teams in the Overall Points Trophy Standings at the New England Rowing Championship (NERC) Regatta this afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond.  Trinity's varsity eight placed sixth in the petit final with a time of 6:12.020 and the second-varsity eight was second in its petit final with a time of 6:12.638.  Trinity finished ninth among 32 teams in the Men's and Women's Overall Points Trophy Standings 71.95 points, edging 10th-place Connecticut College by .64 points.  Boston College won the Overall Points Trophy title with 71.20 points and Bates won the combined points crown with 172.29 points.

In its varsity-eight heat, Trinity placed fourth at 6:06.911 and grabbing the last spot over Wesleyan in the petit final by just over two seconds.  In the second-varsity eight heats, just .64 seconds separated Worcester Tech, Williams, and Trinity but the Engineers qualified for the grand final with a time of 6:09.984.  Trinity finished its heat at 6:10.048, settling for a spot in the petit final and finishing second to the Ephs by just .46 seconds in that race.
