Trinity Men's Soccer Defeats Western Connecticut

Hartford, Conn. -   Trinity junior forward Sam Wisner (Wayland, Mass.) had a hand in every goal, with two goals and two assist in the decisive 4-1 victory over the Western Connecticut Colonials on Campus Field this evening.  Trinity improves to a 5-1 record, while Western Connecticut drops to 4-5.

Scoring was opened early when Western Connecticut freshmen Bruno Mendonca (New Milford, Conn.) scored a goal assisted by Eren Ceylan (Danbury, Conn.) only 2:45 into the game.  The 1-0 Colonial lead was short lived as Nick Cantone (New York, N.Y.) answered with a Trinity goal less than a minute later, with the assist going to Wisner for his first point of the evening.  Wisner assisted on Peter Marlette (Buffalo, N.Y.) goal and scored one as well, in the remaining half, giving Trinity a 3-1 lead to start the second half of the game.

Wisner scored his second goal of the game and the only goal in the second half at 29:57, which placed his game tally total at six points.  Bantam senior goalkeeper Zac Trudeau (Norwell, Mass.) made five saves, including one against a penalty shot, while junior goalkeeper Nathan Maggiotto (Concord, N.H.) made one save, coming in with 10 minutes left in the game.  Western Connecticut goalkeeper Dan Michalowski (Bethel, Conn.) recorded eight saves.
