Trinity Men's Soccer Announces 2012 Schedule

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity men's soccer squad has announced its schedule for the 2012 season. The Bantams, coached by 2011 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Coach of the Year Michael Pilger (9th Season), finished 2011 with an 11-5-3 record and advanced to their first NESCAC Finals.  The Bantams qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the first time since 1997, and downed St. Joseph's (Maine), 1-0, in the NCAA First Round, before failing to advance on penalty kicks after tying Babson, 2-2, in the NCAA Second Round.

The team takes on its usual challenging schedule this fall, visiting NESCAC rivals Amherst, which was ranked No. 10, in the country at the end of last year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and closing the regular season at home against Wesleyan, which was ranked No. 24 at the end of last fall. The Bantams, which received votes in the final NSCAA Top-25 last year, open 2012 at Eastern Connecticut, which also received votes in the end-of-the-year rankings, on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m.  Trinity's home opener falls on Wednesday, September 12 at 4 p.m. against Worcester State.
