Trinity Men's Squash Takes Third Straight NESCAC Championship Title

Hartford, Conn. - The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's and Women's Squash Championship Tournament concluded today with the finals and place matches at Trinity College's Kellner Squash Center.  Trinity won both the men's and women's titles for the third consecutive season, as both shut out Williams, 9-0, in the finals today.  The Trinity men blanked Colby and Amherst and the Trinity women skunked Tufts and Middlebury in their respective quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Saturday.

The Trinity men, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improve to 11-0 and extends the nation's longest active winning streak in any intercollegiate varsity sport to 194 triumphs in a row.  The Trinity women, ranked No. 3 in the nation, improve to 10-1.  Senior captain Charles Tashjian (Old Greenwich Conn.) won three matches for the Bantam men and freshman Andrea Echeverria (San Salvador, El Salvador) outscored her three opponents by a combined score of 81-5 in her three victories for the Bantam women.
