Top-Ranked Men's Squash Blanks Drexel

Hartford, Conn. - The top-ranked Trinity College men's squash team knocked off the No. 9 ranked Drexel University Dragons via sweep on Sunday morning at the Kellner Squash Center in Hartford. Trinity, which won its first two matches of the year yesterday against Bowdoin and Bates College, begins the season 3-0 with a matchup against No. 7 ranked Columbia looming on Friday December 2.

First-year Kush Kumar (Chennai, India) swept his opponent in the No. 2 spot in Trinity's lineup, as did senior co-captain Affeeq Ismail (Kuching, Malaysia) at No. 6 and first-year Yehia Issam (Brooklyn, N.Y.) at No. 9. Junior Rick Penders (Maastricht, Netherlands) earned a gutsy 3-2 win in the No. 3 spot in the first wave of action in the match's only five-set game.
