Hartford, Conn. – Senior tri-captain Affeeq Ismail (Kuching, Malaysia) allowed just 14 points in a 3-0 win at the No. 6 position in the lineup to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 8-1 victory over the visiting Columbia University Lions in men’s squash action this afternoon at Kellner Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improves to 4-0, while the No. 7-ranked Lions drop to 1-1

Trinity led, 6-0, after two waves, winning four of the first six matches by 3-0 scores.  Bantam junior tri-captain Rick Penders (Maastricht, Netherlands), ranked No. 3 nationally among returning players, pulled out a 3-2 triumph against Columbia senior Rishi Tandon (West Bengal, India), ranked No. 11, in the No. 3 spot.  Lion junior Osama Khalifa (Cairo, Egypt), ranked No. 6, earned the lone point for the visitors with a 3-0 win at the top of the ladder over No. 13-ranked Trinity sophomore Michael Craig (Belfast, Northern Ireland).
