Waltham, Mass. - Senior co-captain Max Ma (Nanjing, China) and rookie Daming Xing (Beijing, China) won two events each to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 138-106 victory over the Brandeis University Judges in men's swimming and diving action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 5-3 with its third consecutive win.
Ma and Xing also made up half of Trinity's 400-yard medley relay quartet that opened the meet with a winning time of 3:42.96. Sophomroe Nick Celestin (Woodbridge, Conn.) and first-year Evan Long (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) made up the other half of the relay team that finished first by nearly five full seconds ahead of another Trinity foursome in second. Trinity led, 15-2, after one event and remained ahead by a double-digit margin the rest of the way. Xing won the 50-yard backstroke (25.47) and 50-yard butterfly (23.76) , while Ma took first in the 50- (28.97) and 200-yard breaststrokes (2:17.81). Senior Mark Yanagisawa (Woodbridge, Conn.) added a winning time of 2:00.84 in the 200-yard fly for the Bantams. Trinity swam the final two events as exhibitions.
