Trinity Men's Swimmers Win Four Events At Roger Williams

Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore Doug Curtin (Wayland, Mass.) won two events, while junior Carl Gibney (Berwyn, Pa.) and first-year Tristan McConnell (Merion Station, Pa.) won one race apiece, as the Trinity College Bantams closed the 2014-15 men's swimming and diving dual-meet season with a 166-81 loss against the Roger Williams University Hawks this afternoon.  Trinity finishes winless in 11 dual meets, while the Hawks finish with a 4-4 dual-meet record and three victories in a row.

Curtin won the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 26.26, followed by rookie teammate Hunter Mitchell-Adams (Stratford, Conn.) in the second place at 27.91.  After earning second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.09, just .27 seconds behind the winner, Gibney took first in the 100-yard backstroke at 59.71, and was also one place ahead of Mitchell-Adams who finished in 1:01.19.  McConnell won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.40, while Curtin and Gibney finished 1-2 in the 500-yard free with respective times of 4:57.33 (season best)and 5:08.89.  Curtin added a second-place time of 57.15 in the 100-yard individual medley to complete the individual events.
