Trinity Men's Swimming And Diving Takes Hamilton Invitational Title

Clinton, N.Y. - First-year Charlie Roth (Alexandria, Va.) won the 100-yard backstroke and was part of two winning relays to lead the Trinity College Bantams to the Hamilton College Men's Swimming and Diving Invitational title this weekend at Bristol Pool.  Trinity finished 63 points ahead of second-place Oswego State with 693 points, as the Bantams collected 80 points for winning both medley relay races.  The Bantams will close the 2017 fall semester with the first of two home events this season, when the Bantams host Wheaton College on Friday at 6 p.m.

Roth posted a winning time of 54.38 to win by a quarter of a second in the 100-yard back, and teamed with junior Ethan Hunter (Westport, Conn.) and rookies Aleksander Kapanadze (London, England) and Radojica Pavlovic (Belgrade, Serbia) to win the 200-yard medley relay on Friday. Trinity sophomore Greg Kalmiskii (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Roth finished 1-2 in the 200-yard backstroke today, as Kalmiskii registered a time of 1:57.92 and Roth followed at 1:59.98.  Kalmiskii and Roth also made up half of the first-place foursome in the 400-yard medley relay, as the pair combined with Hunter and Pavlovic to earn a time of 3:38.09.  Kalmiskii was also second in the 500-yard freestyle, while Pavlovic came in third place in both the 50-yard free and the 100-yard free.  Kalmiskii, Pavlovic, senior tri-captain Hunter Mitchell-Adams (Stratford, Conn.), and first-year Marco Rupp (Wolfsburg, Austria) added a second-place time of 3:16.91 in the 400-yard free relay and a third-place time of 1:29.43 in the 200-yard free relay.  First-year Alex Schrock (Long Lake, Minn.) was fourth off the one-meter board and sixth off the three-meter board.
