Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College swimming and diving program has announced the hiring of Harry Traystman as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season. The Bantams, coached by Carlos Vega (4th season), have started the season strong and will host their first home meets this Friday, with the men's team challenging Wheaton and the women's team also facing Wheaton as well as Wellesley College.
Traystman joins the Trinity staff after a decorated career as a college swimmer. Traystman was a two-time national champion, eight-time individual national champion, NCAA national runner-up, 17-time All-American and captain for Division II Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C. Traystman graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in May of 2016 with a bachelor's degree in sports management and a minor in business administration.
Traystman also has coaching experience, most recently as the head swim coach and On-Deck Program coordinator at New South Swimming from September of 2016 to October of this year, where he coached youth swimmers. He was also has worked as an event sales coordinator for Bear Claw Events, and was the weight room supervisor while at Queens. Traystman holds numerous coaching certifications and has volunteered as a Unified Partner for the Special Olympics from 2002-2006.
