Kristen Noone returns for her 10th season as the head coach of the Trinity College men's and women's swimming and diving teams. She served as an assistant at Trinity in 1999-00. Noone brings a wealth of coaching and competitive swimming experience to the Trinity program and has coached some of the top student-athletes at Trinity. Her teams have consistently earned the College Swimming Coaches Association Academic All American Team Award. Several swimmers and divers earn NESCAC All-Academic honors each season as well. For the past several years, Noone has also coached age group swimmers at the Cardinal Swim Camp.
Noone competed as a distance freestyler and backstroker at
Boston College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1989. A
four-year letterwinner and captain in her senior year, she was a
Big East Conference and New England Championships qualifier all
four years. She earned all-conference and all-academic honors
during her collegiate career. Noone earned her master's
degree at Trinity College in 2007.
Peter Suydam enters his ninth year as the
Trinity diving coach. An accomplished competitor, setting and
still holding numerous records, Suydam has incorporated progressive
techniques used by several of the most distinguished coaches across
the country. Over the past 20 years, Suydam has helped age group,
high school, and collegiate divers reach championship status.
In 2001, Suydam was named the Diving Coach of the Year at the New
England Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. In
addition to his responsibilities at Trinity, Suydam works with a
varying number of age group and high school athletes registered
with United States Diving.
Alex Spurrier returns to the Bantam squad as
its new assistant swimming Coach after a year as a volunteer
assistant. Spurrier was a member of the Trinity swimming &
diving team in the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons, competing as a
distance freestyler. After graduating from Bethel University in
2007, Spurrier went on to participate in Teach for America, working
in the Hartford public school system. He is pursuing his
master's degree at Trinity as a graduate assistant.
