Trinity Men's Tennis Drops Heartbreaker To Bowdoin In First Dual Match


Pomona, Calif. - Tyler Anderson (Norwich, Vt.) defeated Nick White (Wellesley, Mass.), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3 in the No. 5 singles match to lead the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 5-4 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action this evening at Pomona-Pitzer.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the Northeast and No. 12 in the nation, falls to 0-1 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears, ranked No. 4 in the Northeast and No. 11 nationally, improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Trinity led, 2-1, after doubles play and wins by senior co-captains David Yahng (Hong Kong) and Gautam Samarth (Pune, India) increased the Bantam advantage to 4-2 with three matches yet undecided.  The Polar Bears won all three in tightly contested, three-set matches.
