Waltham, Mass. - The visitign Trinity College Bantam men's tennis team rallied back from a 3-0 deficit after dropping all three doubles matches to escape Brandeis University wit a 5-4 victory over the Judges in men's tennis action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 7 in New England and No. 24 nationally, improves to 8-5 with its third consecutive win, while Brandeis falls to 4-10.
Trailing, 3-0, Trinity won five singles matches in a row, all in straight sets, before Brandeis earned its fourth poitn after the team decision was decided. Bantam rookie Ned Mandel (Chevy Chase, Md.) pulled out a pivotal 7-3 triumph in his tiebreaker after edging Judge freshman Michael Secular (Bronx, N.Y.), 7-6, in the second set.
