Hartford, Conn. - Sam Rudovsky teamed with Zach Brint for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, then survived a third-set match point and rallied for a win in the third set for a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 singles win at the third position to clinch a 5-4 Wesleyan University Cardinal victory over the host Trinity College Bantams in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis match this afternoon at Assaiante Center. Trinity, ranked No. 8 in the Northeast, falls to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the NESCAC, while the Cardinals improve to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the league while snapping a 10-game losing streak against the Bantams.

Trinity senior tri-captain Kayong Lee (Villanova, Pa.) and first-year Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) won, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles to offset a pair of 8-4 wins by the Cardinals at the top-two spots. In singles, each team won three matches, including straight-set triumphs by Traff at No. 5 and sophomores teammates Dan Carpenter (Wayzata, Minn.) and Ned Mandel (Chevy Chase, Md.) at the the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively, but wins in the third set by Brint and Cardinal sophomore Ben Hudson at No. 6 singles were pivotal in the upset.
