Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams defeated the visiting Connecticut College Camels, 8-1, in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action this afternoon at Assaiante Center. Trinity improves to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC, while Connecticut College falls to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the league with their fifth setback in a row.
Trinity led, 2-1, after doubles play thanks to an 8-2 win at the No. 2 spot by junior tri-captain Kayong Lee (Villanova, Pa.) and freshman Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) and an 8-5 triumph by sophomores David Myers (Winnetka, Ill.) and Musyoka Mbithi (Orange, N.J.) at the No. 3 position. The Bantams swept singles play with six wins in straight sets, including impressive, 6-2, 6-0 decisons by sophomore Ned Mandel (Chevy Chase, Md.) at No. 1 and Traff at No. 4.
