Thousand Oaks, Calif. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams suffered a 6-3 loss to the California Lutheran University Kingsmen in men's tennis action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 3-3, while the No. 6-ranked Kingsmen improve to 13-1 with their ninth consecutive victory.
In unusual form, California Lutheran and Trinity began the day with singles play as the men and women's teams played an overlapping double header. Rookies Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) and Aaron Segel (Needham, Mass.) kept the Bantams in the match with straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to make the score, 4-2, heading into doubles.
At first doubles, Nicholas Ballou and Ray Worley earned a quick victory to clinch the decision for the Kingsmen, but Trinity was not finished as the sophomore duo of Ilya Levin (Wellesley, Mass.) and Ned Mandel (Chevy Chase, Md.) won , 8-2, at the No. 3 spot to round out the scoring.
