Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College men's tennis team opened the 2016 campaign this weekend at the Middlebury Invitational hosted by the Panthers at the Proctor Tennis Courts. In doubles action, seniors Rutendo Matingo (Weston, Mass.) and William Boyd (Hillsborough, Calif.) won, 8-6, against Tufts doubles team to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament in the "A" Doubles Flight. In the "B" Doubles Flight, senior Phillip Winser (St. Lazare, Quebec) and sophomore Edan Sossen (Oakland Gardens, N.Y.) knocked off pairs from Middlebury and Skidmore to reach the semifinals of the tournament. Sossen/Winser lost on Sunday to a pair from Brandeis, 8-3.
