Trinity Men's Tennis Edges Coast Guard In Season's First Dual Match

New London, Conn. - Trailing, 2-1, after doubles play, the visiting Trinity College Bantams pulled out a 5-4 decision against the United States Coast Guard Academy Bears in men's tennis action this afternoon.  Trinity, playing its first dual match of the 2016-17 campaign, received four straight-set singles wins after senior co-captains William Boyd (Hillsborough, Calif.) and Rutnedo Matingo (Weston, Mass.) had given the Bantams their lone doubles point with an 8-6 triumph at first doubles.  Matingo and Boyd won at the top-two spot in the singles lineup, while classmate Phillip Winser (St. Lazare, Quebec) won at No. 6 singles and first-year William Frigerio (Villanova, Pa.) won at No. 4 singles.  Coast Guard falls to 1-1.
