Trinity Men's Track Finishes 19th In New England Open Championships


Boston, Mass. - Freshman Michael Burnstein (Brookline, Mass.) came in sixth place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:53.16 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 19th-place finish in the New England Open Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet at Boston University this weekend.  Trinity finished with 11 points.  Connecticut won the mett with 128.5 points.

The Bantams earned nine points on two relays, as senior Sam Moorhead (Dedham,. Mass.), junor tri-captain Alex Baillargeon (Westbrook, Maine), sophomore Brendan Powers (Middleton, Mass.), and freshman Dan Scully powered Trinity to a third-place time of 7:42.29 in the 4x800-meter race.  Scully teamed with senior tri-captain Hunter Norte (Ellington, Conn.), sophomore Ricky Lynn (Philadelphia, Pa.), and fellow rookie Wilson McGrail (Wayland, Mass.) for a sixth-place time of 10:13.83 in the distance medley relay.  All seven Bantam runners earn All-New England Open honors for their fine performances.
