Trinity Men's Track Competes In New England Open Meeet At UMass


Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Brendan Powers (Middleton, Mass.) finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run, as the Trinity College Bantams finished 34th in the New England Open Championships at the University of Massachusetts this weekend.

Powers was Trinity's lone point scorer, finishing the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:52.93, within three seconds of first place in the Division I meet.   Sophomore Michael Goulet (Glastunbury, Conn.) had a strong performance, placing 14th overall in the shot put, throwing a distance of 13.94m, and 16th overall in the discus throw, with a toss of 40.57m.  Freshman Daniel Scully (Amston, Conn.) finished 26th overall in the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 1:57.66.
