Trinity Records Three Firsts At Eastern Connecticut Men's Track And Field Meet
Willimantic, Conn. - Three different Bantams won events, as Trinity College competed in the Fifth Annual Eastern Connecticut State University Men's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational this afternoon. Sophomore John Li (Brookline, Mass.) won the hammer throw with a heave of 135'07", while senior co-captain Dan Scully (Amston, Conn.) set a new meet record with a first-place time of 1:57.63 in the 800-meter run, and junior Tony Chen (Newton, Mass.) added a first-place time of 16.02 to win the 110-meter hurdles by .01 seconds. Freshman James Kuritzkes (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) was second in the discus throw with a distance of 106'04", while sophomore Peter Deraska (Winchester, Mass.) and junior Royce Brown (Royersford, Pa.) took second and third, respectively, in the 100-meter dah at 11.52 and 11.59, and senior co-captain John Michael Mason (Nahant, Mass.) recorded a second-place time of 51.76 in the 400-meter dash for the Bantams.
