Trinity Men's Track and Field Places Fourth at Coast Guard Invitational

New London, Conn. - The Trinity College men's track and field squad finished fourth at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon in New London. The Bantams finished with 75 points, 17 points ahead of fifth-place Eastern Connecticut State.

Junior sprinter Alex Tomcho (Windsor, Conn.) continued to run strong, finishing fifth in the 200-meter dash with a finals time of 22.85. Senior captain Daniel Hughes (Hagley, England) finished just behind Tomcho, good for seventh in the same race. Tomcho also finished fifth in the 400-meter dash, just .40 seconds ahead of classmate Ben Feola (Woodbridge, Conn.). Senior captain Kyle Larsson (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) turned in a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a 1:56.11 finals time while sophomore Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) placed second in an impressive, 4:08.41 finish, in the 1,500-meter run. 

Joseph Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) won 5,000-meter run and classmate Luke Mayer (Morristown, N.J.) brought home first place in the 110-meter hurdles to highlight Trinity's scoring on the day. Junior William Duggan (Glastonbury, Conn.) and senior Jack Boucher (Newton Center, Mass.) finished second and third, respectively, in the javelin as well for Trinity.
