Trinity's Men's Outdoor Track And Field Turns In 12th-Place Effort at Silfen Invitational

New London, Conn. - The Trinity College men's track and field team finished 12th at the Connecticut College Silfen Outdoor Invitational over the weekend. The Bantams collected 27 team points, three better than fellow New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Wesleyan University.

On Friday, junior Joe Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:49.98, as the Trinity College Bantams opened the weekend.  Trinity sophomore Ace McAllister (Great Barrington, Mass.) placed 11th in the 5,000-meter run, while rookies Will Estony (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Stephen Tyler (Weston, Conn.) were 12th in the 10,000 meters and the 1,500 meters, respectively, and senior co-captain Kyle Larsson (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) came in 13th place in the 800-meter run.

On Saturday, junior Alex Tomcho (Windsor, Conn.) finished third in the 100-meter dash, just 0.7 seconds behind the first-place time, and also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash. Junior Luke Mayer (Morristown, N.J.) finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in an impressive performance and also turned in a seventh-place effort in the 400-meter hurdles. Ben Feola (Woodbridge, Conn.) placed tenth in the 400-meter run while senior Deven Roberts (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished tenth in the high jump and classmate captain Jack Boucher (Newton Center, Mass.) claimed ninth in the javelin.
